  Bow and stern lines?

I didn't see any mention of bow and stern lines. This has always been a very basic part of any loading and tie down procedure I've taught or been taught. Bow and stern lines are a real safety issue in my humble opinion. They should be fairly easy to use with the bed extender.

Seems typical of someone discussing only straps though. What about rope? Yeah, you need some knowledge to use ropes, but then everything gets easier and a whole lot more versatile.

Not a bad article, but I would have liked to have seen a bit better coverage of the actual tie down procedure. The bed extender info was great as far as I can see. Just my opinion.
