hot fluids

Hi,
Just to pass along you cannot give a hypo victim a heart attack
by giving hot fluids. Drawing heat away from the core is sometimes
referred to as after drop. This has nothing to do with fluids you give.
I have seen estimates as to how much hot liquid you would have
to give to a hypo victim to raise core temp and it is a lot.
Giving hot fluids, should only be done when patient is conscious enough
to swallow and maintain their own airway, is for two reasons.
1. emotional and psychological boost
2. to get fluids on board
What can cause a hypo victim to have heart problems is
if you are rough in moving or transporting them.
