There is a safer way to melt parrafin or wax without using an open flame. This technique takes a bit longer but can happen before the snow melts. To melt wax use a candle warming plate. Put the wax pieces in a glass container of choice and let the low heat do it's work. Then you can dip the wax as needed without being concerned of it hardening once you remove the bouble boiler from the open flame.

Good idea...I wasn't real comfy telling people to use that open flame...that's what I did and it was very fast...but not the safest trick in the book...Thanks! |
