Good article Kevin - guess you know that a book has been in existence for some time - on this very subject......the actual title is "How to Shit in the Woods"..........very much the same as your major points. It does point out some of the finer points also - like consideration for wind & terrain (always get downwind and downhill if at all possible)etc...as you know - there are only a couple worse surprises than discovering a previously used campsite - even in the Quetico (for example) when people were less than thoughtful or planful.
