Over simplified and in part just wrong Posted by: TommyC1 on Aug-25-06 9:29 AM (EST)
This statement was brought up on the advice board. "A 17 foot or 18 foot canoe will be much faster across the water but will sink like a submarine while shooting whitewater." That's just wrong. There are a lot of design criteria besides length that make a boat work in whitewater. A 17' Old Town Tripper is a pretty good whitewater boat, solo or Tandem. Not sure that I could do better in the space used. I just hate to see folks mislead.
