Good article, don't think many people realize the joy of fishing from a kayak..caught several silvers out of one while living on Kodiak Island...lots of rock bass, too! Almost caught a sea lion one day. One point on the fishing rod...many think the short rod is best for the kayak. I have found that the opposite is true..you want a rod long enough to 1) keep the tip up and 2) you want to be able to swing the rod tip around and over to the other side when the fish runs under the boat. Passing a short rod under the boat to the other hand is not a great option..not in cold water, rough seas or simply trying to maintain balance while also fishing.
Good luck on the water...and safe paddling...
