That's a good question... I haven't tried it. Seeing as most rec boats are designed to track (go in a straight line), you won't be able to carve anywhere near the same type of turn, but even if your boat continues on a straight path, you'll still realize the benefits of practicing this drill (improved edge control and balance). When I get a chance to try it out, I'll let you know what I find out...
