I sometimes like a campfire - when its cold - and I usually enjoy it once per year.
I am certain, though, that everybody reading this has encountered gratuitous campfires, unneeded for cooking or warmth. One summer I even encountered people watching a portable television set next to a poorly made campfire.
A modest proposal. Garbage incinerators should be located in communities of people with the highest per capita use of recreational campfires or fireplaces. That way they can truly enjoy the poor air quality that they actively seek.
