Nice place to paddle, the water is a lot cleaner than south of Lanier. We paddled a couple of miles upstream, found two small streams running into the river and explored those. Nice scenery with all of the trees and hills and some rock formations along the banks.
This is the transition from Chattahoochee River to Lake Lanier. Paddling upstream from here you are soon in the river with a mild current. paddling downstream you are in the lake with a very small current. Great part of the lake, no houses and very secluded. There are a couple of islands nearby and some great creeks to paddle up. There is very little boat traffic on this part of the lake.
