After a full day of jigging and not very much to show for it except for tired out arms, we were just about to head back in. "One last drop," I said to my friend Ken, as I set up for one more drift over the wreck. I dropped the jig and it got crushed. It bent the rod farther than I've ever seen that rod bend and I was struggling to maintain balance because of the power of this fish. After a 25 minute brutal fight, the fish slides up to the surface. I ask Ken to grab the fish but it was so heavy and still kicking that it almost flipped his kayak too! He passes it over to me and after a long day of paddling and jigging, I was way too tired to hold this fish up for the picture, so I decided to just let it lounge on my lap and relax for this kodak moment.
