SHOW DESCRIPTION:

Join us for our first Orienteering Race on the Wisconsin River. The course begins and ends at River Park in Mosinee as part of the Little Bull Falls Logjam Festival. The Logjam Festival began in 2006 to celebrate the city's historic roots in logging and homesteading. Plan to spend the entire afternoon enjoying era entertainment and visit the Rendezvous Camp.

The Little Bull Falls Logjam Canoe & Kayak Orienteering Race is a race that may include 5 or more checkpoints that contestants need to find before returning to the finish line. Each competitor is given a map with checkpoints marked, and each one decides the order in which to visit the check points. The contestants will receive a playing card at each checkpoint as proof. Prizes will also be awarded for the best hand! This is great fun!

Classes are available for all abilities. The total course may be up to 5 miles. Paddleboard classes available as well! A limited supply of kayaks and canoes may be available to rent. Please call ahead to confirm.

This stretch of the Wisconsin River is fairly shallow, with a slow current. There are many sand bars and islands to navigate. The Mosinee Fire Department will provide support as needed.

The Traveling Leinenkugel Logjam Chamber Paddle will be available to the canoe team from a local business that can locate all checkpoints and return with playing cards from each station the fastest!

Pre-registration is available through August 8th, 2012.
Race Day registration is available at the starting area from 11am - 12pm.
