While woodstrip canoe kits and plans have been around for a long time, many stitch-and-glue companies now offer lapstrake canoe kits/plans in addition to kayaks. These kits are easier to build since they do not require a strongback, molds, frames, or steam bending but are still incredibly beautiful and very functional. However, for those that are willing to invest the time, there is still nothing like a woodstrip canoe to attract attention out on the water.
