This canoe was a marathon class 2 racing canoe with a 3/27 bottom. It is almost as fast as a 18.5' Pro boat, and good for wining rivers with tight bends. A little tippy, not enough freeboard for any heavy tripping, and narrow bow entry limit it to racing use or plain fast paddling. The racing class became obsolete in the late '70s. The Thames canoe was used in the marathon class 3 class (and is still a favorite) and is the same canoe only 3/32 bottom. I give it a rating of 10 as it is perfect for what it was made for. Paddling fast!
