This model had been discountinued by the manufacturer, but production was resumed in 2002 due to increased demand for it. Modified models of this are used for racing here in Texas, most notably for the Texas water safari race. It is light (.035 gauge, about 57 lbs), so it is easy to manage single handed on and off the roof rack. It tracks well, glides well and has good initial stability. I have two, one of which I have put a seat aft of the center thwart and use for solo canoeing.
