Overall, a great boat, but... I purchased with the rudder, but the rudder cables were not long enough to reach, so I had to fabricate extensions. Customer service offered to rectify, but I just did it myself, since I wanted to use the boat. Definitely need a rudder, if you are anything but a very experienced kayaker, as it will not track straight without it, unless you paddling skills are well beyond mine, and I have some experience. Also, the seat does not have a sturdy back, and tends to offer no real support, so your back may get tired on long trips. Technically, however, with the RUDDER, the boat is a blast, long, very narrow, and fast, a lot of fun. But also not the best choice except for very large lakes and true coastal paddling. |
