Submitted: 01-11-2000 by Tom Johnston As a follow-up: I have recently learned that you can still get a Canadienne canoe although some models have to be custom-made by and independent maker. Contact Chicagoland Canoe Base for information. They are in high demand and hard to get. A Kevlar 18' 6" model, for example, can be custom made for about $3,500 or so. But those who have them swear that they would not part with them under any circumstances. The people who I know who build and know the most about canoes claim that this is one of the finest canoes ever made.
