Submitted: 03-25-2005 by Ron I've owned a Pelican Explorer with the Ramx hull since 2000. It's a great starter canoe – stable. I'm a 300lb man and have stood in the middle of the canoe, very stable. Also, I have taken it on class 4 white water, the Ramx hull handled the rocks and current very well. The canoe is a little slow and doesn't track as well as more expensive models but they are 2-3 times the price. A good starter that does many things well and can take a beating. You can't go wrong for the money.
