I was one of the first to have a 2003 Pungo1200. This was my first kayak and I have been using it for two full seasons. I use it on ocean bays, rivers, lakes, ponds and tidal rivers. The 1200 is very stable in all conditions and tracks greats. The cockpit has tons of room and the seat is excellent. I do think that it could weight less but it totals weight is only 49 pounds. The hatch cover will come off if you carry it on top of your car. In my case the hatch came off and the contectng line broke so I lost the cover. A replacement is large $$$$. I think that there should also be a front water proff hatch. Accesing the back hatch can't be done while in the kayak (in a safe manner). I would but this kayak again and I do tell my friends to do the same.
