I recently purchased a Passage and find it a good boat for a beginner. The initial stability is good, the cockpit is comfortable, speed is sufficient for a novice and it stores enough gear for trips. The price seems to be a bargain compared to other kayaks in this class. The tracking is a weaker aspect of this boat but that is offset with very nice maneuverability. Another reviewer mentioned that the cockpit construction is a little flimsy and I agree. At 15' and 55# one person can load it onto a car top. I'm looking forward to paddling this boat in local harbors and medium sized lakes. |
