Submitted: 01-07-2004 by Ed Leahy I've owned a royalex explorer for 5 1/2 years. It is an excellent all-round canoe. I use it mainly on rivers and it works well up to class 3(Chattooga section 3) conditions. Its a bit slow on flat water but OK for occasional lake use. Easy to portage despite its weight due to excellent balance. Very good primary and secondary stability as well. Good manueverability for a 16 footer.
