I am primarily a canoeist but bought the Whistler for lake paddling. This is one of the few non-recreational kayaks that will comfortably fit tall people. She has good initial and excellent secondary stability. Tracking is effortless and she turns well when leaned (I do not have a rudder system). Listed as a light touring kayak, the Whistler is fast enough to keep up with longer touring kayaks. The workmanship and quality of the plastic seems better than the competition and I looked at several before finally buying the Whistler. The only negative is the seat. It has a standard hook & loop closure adjustment. You will need to replace this with a cockpit ratchet type for on water adjustments. Overall this is an excellent high volume, light touring, plastic kayak. Compared with others of similar specs you can't go wrong with the Whistler.
