Submitted: 09-05-2002 by canoeist11 These tie downs utilize a permanant in line anchor so that the straps can be placed in car door jambs, hoods, trunks, etc. They have cam buckles and come in various lengths. I use them primarily for tying down the bow and stern of my canoe, and I do not have to find the tow rings under the vehicle- just place a strap in the trunk and hood. Best thing since sliced bread!
