After years of wanting a kayak I finally bought a 2002 Pungo Superlight in February. Did extensive research and decided to go with the Pungo because of the wide cockpit and stability. I'm a big guy, 6'1'' 220lbs. and also am a newspaper photo editor so I can't seem to ever put my camera down.This kayak is ideal for the four times I've been out in it this winter. I live in Southwest Michigan which has the wackiest weather and so far have just been on local lakes. I'm anxious to do some river kayaking as soon as the weather warms up. I decided to spend the extra $100 or so for the Superlight over the basic Pungo. The Superlight weighs about 41 lbs. and I car top it on top of my Jeep Wrangler and it's a piece of cake to do. |
