Old Town Guide 147, Polylink 3 construction. Got mine for $150 from a pawn shop. It lives on the top of my van, and gets more use than any of my other boats since I don't worry about it. Took it down a class 3 section of the Russian River (boat was half full of water most of the time), playing demolition derby with it for three miles; we might have missed two or three rocks. No problems! Another time I had four people in it. Really, the thing's built like a brick shithouse. Polylink is incredibly strong, and as stiff as my Reflection 15 (but pretty heavy and not very fast). Nothing can touch it for anywhere near the $500 price. Unless you're showing off to your yuppie friends, this is the canoe for about 90% of you.
