A Swifty was my first kayak and I still have it. I't hard to beat for creeks and narrow rivers but for larger bodies of water I found I needed a longer and narrower boat. The Swifty is very stable and maneuverable but I found that it takes considerably more paddling effort compared to a longer boat. I've had a lot of fun with this boat and have never regreted buying it but you must learn that there is a trade-off for its great stability and handling. By the way, others have said that there's no way a boat that size can track well but I've found the opposite. It tracks very well. I've never paddled another kayak of this size so I can't say how it compares to other models and brands.
