Submitted: 07-20-2001 by Cosette I tested a bunch of kayaks before settling for this one. I wanted a boat that would respond easily to lean turns, one that could pack enough gear for 2 weeks, one with good secondary stability and narrow enough for my small stature (5'3" - 110 lbs). The Extreme, contrary to my expectations, was what I was looking for. Many people had told me an 18'10" boat would be too big for me, but I found this boat to be very responsive, and much easier to handle than its popular cousin, the Solstice GTS. This boat should definitely be on ANY kayaker's short-list - not just the bigger-than-average paddler. I give it a 9 out of 10 with my only criticism being its tendency to weathercock a little with the rudder up. |
