It's not the best fishing vessel, but it works in a pinch. I am 228lb and it has not presented any problems. I have trolled in lakes, carried it to ponds where float tubers previously had the run of the place, and I even explored San Francisco Bay. My weight helps keep to kayak in place when the winds blow. I have only had the kayak for a little over a month. It allowed me to catch a 17.5 lb stripped bass that I otherwise would not have access to. The only knock I have is the lack of deck space. That is to be expected. The kayak is only 9ft. I was able to mount a rod holder on the bow and I will be purchasing a kayak fishing seat soon. Then I will be right up to par with the bigger kayaks, except the frenzy will be easier to transport.
