I have kayaked with sit-inside style kayaks for years. When it came time to buy a good angler's kayak I did a lot of research. The Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120 was my choice. It is a great choice for anglers that also like to paddle on flat water.
The Tarpon came nicely equipped with two "mortar" style rod holders, a versatile rail system in front, and another in the rear where the spacious storage well is. Additional rod holders, dash, and other accessories can be mounted in numerous configurations to the rails. The Tarpon has two dry access hatches, a small one in front of the seat and a larger one in the bow. Both hatches allow the user to store fishing poles and other gear in the dry well, which is the entire inside of the boat.
The boat paddles and tracks very well. The seat back is easy to adjust forward and back as well as up and down. The seat bottom adjusts up and down under the thigh area to increase the user's comfort. Scuppers are located liberally and are located under the seat well, keeping the paddler dry.
I have been extremely pleased with this boat and find it versatile and a pleasure to use. I highly recommend the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120 for anyone wanting a great and versatile kayak!
