I've owned this kayak for a number of years. I mostly paddle on bays along the Texas coast. It's cheap, maneuverable and relatively light weight. Unfortunately, it tracks poorly in open water. I have to spend a lot of energy keeping it on track rather than propelling it forward. It's harder to keep on course in any kind of breeze. It tracks fairly well in bayous where there is virtually no current and wind. It's a decent beginner's boat because it's beamy and easy to get in and out of but if you enjoy kayaking in a variety of conditions it won't be long before you start looking for a better boat. Installing a rudder is a no-go since most kits cost as much as the boat.
