I bought two Kayaks this summer: a Pelican and a Old Town Vapor. Both are ten footers. The two kayaks fit nice into the back of my truck (Ranger) and they are easy to get down to the river edge. There is better handling with the Vapor and more room in the cockpit. It paddles straighter and sits out of the water better. I fish with both yaks and find the stability much better in the Vapor. Casting is no trouble from the Vapor and it will stay put even with ship rollers coming at you from any angle. Important feature because of the St Lawrence River can be a little rough on occasion... |
