The 16' Prospector model is fairly true to the original Bill Mason version, lacks 4" of rocker, but 2" is actually pretty good. Quite seaworthy, have loaded it to 850# with no issues. Laced seats allow solo paddling backwards (tractor seats don't). But bring a cushion for long trips. Fibreglass model is stiff, doesn't "oilcan" in chop or current. Not as fast as some but truly the SUV of the canoe world. Which is why I have one and why it's on my SUV. |
