My first trip I took it on a 4 mile / 1 hr. trip down the lower Kern River, it was fantastic. Mine has the skeg and goes straight when you want it to, and steers easily. The paddle holder hooks did bite my right hand a couple of times, so I cut the hooks off when I got home. I assume I will have to upgrade if I progress to bigger rapids someday, but this was a great purchase for me.
