The Sandpiper is the sit on top version of the Otter. It tracks well for its size relative to the other boats that I tried. It is great as a water toy -- kids and adults can easily get back on it in any depth of water. If it swamps in heavy seas or from roughhousing, one ends up sitting in a puddled seat depression rather than being in a boat full of water. Best of all, my young teens and their friends aren't afraid of this boat -- they have shown very little interest in our canoe and sunfish type sailboat and in our now-departed runabout -- and are pushing for a second boat.
