I recently added a Cush Gear Backsaver to my Wenonah Prism canoe w/ a floor mounted tractor seat. In order to install the backrest I had to replace the seat slide with one that has longer cross members. These slides are available from Wenonah for about $20. I have been using the Backsaver while fishing from my canoe and have been able to significantly extend my time on the water. The rest is adjustable and is very comfortable when properly set. This manufacturer also makes a Backsaver which will mount to web or cane seats. If you looking for a quality backrest I highly recommend the CushGear Backsaver
