Submitted: 07-15-2000 by JDP We were beginners and purchased two Gannets three years ago. Our whole neighborhood bought 5 at one time and we just added another. As beginners we never doubted their stability and, in fact, tested three different kayaks in a swimming pool to see how far they would tip before turning over. We obviously thought the Gannet was the best all around. I agree that it does dent/warp when on a roof rack. It was necessary for us to store them on our rack for a week at one time while renting a cottage; however, it straightened in very little time once off the rack. It is a kayak that takes a fair amount of abuse, it tracks well, and feels sturdy. We would heartily recommend them.
