Submitted: 10-30-2008 by kbf This is a FYI review for the Tempest 180. Brand loyalty rates very high despite paddlers being aware of the quality control issues. I find it difficult if not impossible to purchase a new kayak for over $3000 and immediately have to modify it so that the durability is satisfactory and the kayak is safe to paddle. This kayak is advertised as a performance touring expedition kayak. Well after some modifications I believe it could be. Keep in mind that modifications will void the warranty.
