Submitted: 08-20-2008 by mdm I've had my 174 for 10 years. Was a kayaker previously (class IV boater) though I've done some V. Have had the D 174 down III+ solo and w/ 12yo daughter. Managed to surf the boat as well as stair step eddies w/o problem. Tracks well. Takes abuse. Cons: Center caved in. Heavy. Seats aren't easily reversible so solo trip can become uncomfortable.
