As a cheap, starter yak, I'd give it a 9. It's stable, very maneuverable, easy to haul around and a great learning tool for youngsters, as well as, for myself. The seat needs added padding to make it comfortable. Other than that, I like it fine. I rigged it for fishing and still use it myself on solo fishing trips to local lakes, creeks and rivers.
Having kayaked for several years now, it's apparent this yak lacks the speed needed to keep up with a group on a long river trip. I can keep up and I get a good work out doing so, but my kids can't. So as an overall kayak, I'd rate it a 5 if you consider its long trip limitations. |
