The Tempest 180 has been a fantastic boat for me over the past few seasons. I was very hesitant to consider a boat with a beam over 22". After spending very little time in the boat my reservations were dashed away. I'm 6'2, 250lbs and have found the boat perfectly balanced. It's very pleasant to paddle on flatwater, turbulent, seas and surf. It's responsive enough to be a fun day boat, and doesn't bog-down when loaded for multi-days. The Tempest is smartly outfitted from the cockpit to the toggles. I've even enjoyed the lengthened cockpit which, for the first time, allows me to drop-in butt first. Great design, fun boat. |
