I have made a strip built version of this kayak and it is the easiest kayak I have yet used. I have a Quest(P&H uk) which is fast and stable but next to the OI feels like a cart horse. The OI requires a bit of effort to turn but the stability means it can be leaned effectively to make quick turns. My son borrowed it for a race and came in 1st of all the sea kayaks and was only beaten by those in dedicated racing canoes.
An excellent design as Jay Babina himself says you will choose it before any other kayak once you have used it. Only complaint is that it has not got much storage, but then it never was designed for long trips.
