I am a beginner, and felt that the Pursuit handled calm water ok. It did have a little tracking problems, but not bad. It was advertised it can handle a class II rapid. This was a disaster. With every decent hit, the kayak tipped over and left me swimming. The kayak filled up with water and I had to go to shore to dump out the water. Some of the problem was inexperience, but I have traveled this same section in other kayaks without coming close to going out. I plan on keeping the Pursuit for the lake or ponds.
