The dark green color and carbon-fiber matting may not be as 'pretty' as a lot of canoes, but it does give a hint to it's rock solid construction and durability. Yet there is a flair of elegance in the beautiful wooden gunwhales, carefully pared down for weight savings. With just the paddler in her, she tracks acceptably and changes direction at the flip of a paddle, a responsive play boat at heart. Throw in a load and your tracking is greatly increased, but don't head for the open water as your waterline would put you at risk. It is definitely a boat for small water, tame rivers, and to display advanced paddling techniques. Yet a 3-4 day trip into the Okefenokee is still within her grasp, just don't feed the gators! |
