Frequent Pnetter Brian Nystrom hits a home run with his first book on building Greenland paddles. Forty-eight pages containing eighty photos of the paddle-making process in a clear, easy to follow fashion. Spiral bound for the workbench, this book is made to be at the paddlemaker's side during the wonderful process of turning a natural piece of wood into a utilitarian and beautiful piece of Greenland art: the Greeland Paddle. I am a rank amateur at woodworking, yet Brian's hints and non-preachy discourse makes the gentle carving of the paddle seem within reach of even a novice. Many topics, such as wood selection, tools of the trade, and finishes for the paddle, for instance, I have seen on many Paddling.net threads over the past year. NOw you can have experienced answers and tips in one concise workbook.

I strongly suggest this book for anyone contemplating the home build of the Greenland Paddle. I look forward to a future boat outfitting and modification book from Mr. Nystrom, who has displayed a talent for these skills on his web pages.
