It boasts details of every roadway, large and small (including that little dirt road to your put-in), plus boat launches and streams and waterways. Available to almost every state, the atlas features a state map grid on the back cover and to look up an area, you simply find it on the state map, and the number on the grid corresponds to the page of the atlas with the detailed map. And detailed it is, truly exhaustive for all your outdoor needs.
Two small improvements could be the inclusion of topography, although that is not typical of road and waterway atlases and might complicate the appearance of the map, and the atlas could benefit from more paddling put-ins; although it has details of every power boat launch, the canoe and kayak launches are not shown separately.
In summary, though, this atlas remains absolutely indispensable for the outdoorsman and paddler. A good investment. |
