This DVD certainly covers all aspect of the rescues, and is very long. Unfortunately, the quantity of material, presented in a rather haphazard fashion, leaves something to be desired. I find the DVD to be unnecessarily detailed, and the concepts seems to skip around frequently causing confusion for this viewer. The skills are undoubtedly lifesaving, but the pool and outdoor video does become redundant. After a long viewing, it is exhausting. The quality of the images, lighting and sound is only fair, not great. The second DVD has Wayne and a fellow instruction basically chatting at a table about Hypothermia to clothing, and this is clearly presented in a more functional fashion in books and other DVDs, such as Nigel Foster’s Rescue DVD (which is highly recommended). All in all, this DVD is likely the one with the most “filler” of all my discs, and although I enjoy Wayne’s attitude and demeanor, it is not enough to compensate for the rough quality of production and loose editing. |
