Submitted: 08-14-2006 by JGS I test paddled a Labrador recently. Having owned an Ellesmere in the past, which I loved, I was very disappointed. This design seemed unfinished. The thigh braces are poorly positioned. Whereby the Ellesmere fit me like a glove, I could barely get into the Labrador. The thigh braces are too low and too close to the upper body.
I tested the fiberglass version. This boat feels like a barge. Too slow to move from standstill.
Tracks well but it is too stiff. It does not turn well with leans.
Stability is like the Ellesmere. Primary OK and rock solid secondary.
Overall, very disappointed. I was going to test paddle it to actually buy it. Off my list forever. |
