Submitted: 06-28-2006 by Lee Choo Pure sweetness. I consider (if you're small enough to fit this kayak) this a perfection in form, function, and simplicity. A kayak that steers and goes straight without a rudder; why would anyone want to use a rudder if they didn't have to... Well, most kayaks have to have one. Not Mariners.
I can't speak for the larger Mariners, but this Elan is also one of the prettiest kayak ever made. If you can afford it, get the carbon/Kevlar layup (without bulkheads). The lightness makes it a joy to transport on land. And on the water... "forget about it". Every time I look at the kayak, I think--"Pure Sweetness". |
