Submitted: 05-12-2006 by Mick We have tried, and bought, several backrest types of seat add-ons. The Essex model slides on and tightens with 2 knobs. It is all wood and cane, and provides solid(with some flex) support. Better than any of the cloth and strap models we have. They make canoeing much more enjoyable, and comfortable.
